As an organizer of Uplift, Brooke uses storytelling, community building, and creative action to elevate the voices of young people and empower desert dwellers to join the climate justice movement. Brooke grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and studied environmental policy at Colorado College. For two years, she researched public land and water policy in the American West with the State of the Rockies Project. Brooke is now working for Torrey House Press, a nonprofit that publishes voices for the land, and is a student in the Environmental Humanities Graduate Program at the University of Utah.
Brooke will represent Grand Canyon Trust’s Uplift program at the SHIFT Summit’s Marketplace on Friday, Oct. 14 at 1:45 p.m.
