Katie Holsinger

Katie Holsinger is the Microplastics Project Manager for Adventure Scientists, a 2017 SHIFT Awards Official Selection. She will participate in the Happy Hour discussion, The Modern-Day Activist, on Wednesday, November 1.

Katie is a naturalist, artist, and writer based in the Greater Yellowstone. She is the founder and director of the Yellowstone Arts and Conservation Project, an interdisciplinary initiative promoting conservation, collaboration, and the arts in the Greater Yellowstone region. Through the project, Katie has brought to life the book, The Artists Field Guide to Greater Yellowstone, in collaboration with 50 distinguished artists and writers of the region.

Katie holds her masters degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where she was acknowledged as Wyss Conservation Scholar for her work in Western US Conservation. She is the Artist in Residence at the Northern Rockies Conservation Cooperative (Jackson, WY).

For eleven months between 2016-2017, Katie lived within the varying landscapes of public lands of the American West as she and her husband explored these wild places with a camper van for a base camp. Their dog Juneau and a lot of climbing gear came along for the ride.
