Lori is a fourth generation Fruita area resident and Colorado State University graduate with a degree in Forest Management. She worked in urban forestry and horticulture in the Denver Metro area prior to moving back to Fruita in 2001 with her husband to raise their family. Lori’s interest in local government began while working for the City of Fruita Planning Department. This knowledge base led her down the path of Fruita City Councilwoman from 2006-2012 and Mayor of Fruita from 2012 to the present.
Lori has been a proponent of Fruita as a leader in promoting the outdoor recreation industry. Traditionally dependent upon oil and gas, it has been an intentional decision to move to recreation based economy with mountain biking being the catalyst. Fruita actively promotes the city’s instant access to over one million acres of public lands with unlimited recreational opportunities
Lori is incredibly great-full and humbled to be a part of Fruita’s ongoing transformation over the last 12 years and is always looking for more ways to weave outdoor recreation into the local economy.
