Maria Povec is the Policy Director at the American Alpine Club. At the AAC, she gets to combine her passion for climbing and the outdoors with her experience in the policy world. She works to protect our public lands and access to them, advocate for healthy climbing landscapes and support stewardship projects around the country. Maria has worked for the Maine Legislature, several education non-profits and most recently, as a policy analyst at a think tank in Denver. Maria and her husband are originally Mainers but love living and playing in Colorado.
Maria will speak at the panel, ‘The Outdoor Industry and Our Public Lands‘ on October 15 at 10 AM as part of the SHIFT Summit.
