Michael Fiebig

Mike is Associate Director of the Northern Rockies Office of American Rivers. In this role he leads river conservation efforts in the Northern Rockies and the Intermountain West with a focus on public lands policy and protecting wild rivers. Prior to this, Mike worked for the Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee (GYCC) as their Climate Action Plan Coordinator. He serves on the Board of Directors of Winter Wildlands Alliance, Montana Backcountry Alliance and the Montana Wilderness School. As a former river guide, kayak instructor and a Senior Field Instructor at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Mike has paddled thousands of miles of whitewater in the West, and particularly loves long, multi-day adventures. Mike holds an M.S. in Natural Resources Policy and Conflict Resolution from the University of Montana (2008), a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Philosophy from Michigan State University (1997). He lives with his wife and their dog in Bozeman, MT, where he spends as much time as possible on water and snow.

Michael will represent American Rivers at the SHIFT Summit’s Marketplace on Friday, Oct. 14 at 1:45 p.m.

Michael will also be speaking at the panel ‘The Volunteers‘ on Friday, October 14 at 3:30 PM as part of the SHIFT Summit.
