Sharon Smitherman is the Budget Officer on the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
Born in Vallejo, California, Sharon was raised in West Marin County near the Point Reyes National Seashore. She and her husband, Dan, live in Bondurant with their seven horses and one dog. They have four adult children and eight grandchildren amidst California, Colorado, Alabama and New York.
Sharon has been the Budget Officer on the Bridger-Teton National Forest for almost seven years. Prior to the Forest Service, Sharon worked as a Program and Financial Manager for the Department of Defense for over 18 years in both California and Washington DC. Before moving to Wyoming, she worked as a Contract and Program manager for an engineering firm in central New York. After arriving in Wyoming in 2005 until coming to work for the B-T in 2010, Sharon was an office manager and sales associate for a locally owned real estate firm.
Sharon enjoys skiing, horseback riding and caring for her horses, and dog, reading, sewing, baking, hiking, camping, road trips, and spending time with Dan, their children and grandchildren. She enjoys her job as the Budget Officer and is happy to be on your Bridger-Teton National Forest.
