Tim has been riding and building bike trails since his childhood when he started with his own BMX track in the forest around his parents’ Sydney home. Guiding mountain bike and hiking tours over many years has sharpened his eye for sustainable trail and coupled with a Bachelor of Arts (Outdoor Education) and a love of sharing all things natural he came to Whistler in 2003 and ended up staying. His many endeavors have seen him leading backcountry expeditions in Tasmania, Victoria, and New South Wales, Australia and Canada to running numerous 6 month conservation corps projects. In the past 2 years he has donated much of his spare time as Trails Director for Whistler Off Road Cycling Association (WORCA). Working with land owners and managers to provide access and sustainable trail solutions into the future. In summer he works for the Resort Municipality of Whistler on trails and patrols in the Whistler Bike Park and ski patrol on Whistler Mountain in the winter.
This lifestyle based employment has given him time to venture around North America on bike trips ‘researching’ some of the best riding on offer. He is really excited to be representing WORCA and sharing some of the things we have been doing to promote and develop sustainable trails, programs, and events.
About Whistler Off Road Cycling Association (Whistler, British Columbia, Canada): By working with government, landowners and developers, WORCA continues to ensure mountain bike trail access while providing a wide range of other services to the mountain bike community.
