DAY 2 of the Outdoor Blogger Summit (OBS), the first conference for outdoor digital journalism, continues with a focus on blogging from the perspective of brands, and ways to grow your traffic.

Core question: How do we improve sustainable access to public lands and waters in order to best foster stewardship of these lands by the stewards of tomorrow?

Moderated by Dan Nordstrom, 5 presenters each have exactly 5 minutes to share initial ideas and reactions to the core question. The remainder of the time (approximately 25-30 minutes), panelists will respond to each other’s ideas and react to the other discussion questions, with participation from the audience.

Core question: How do we establish a common ground among recreationalists, land managers and conservationists that minimizes conflict between user groups and sustains the active use of our playgrounds in perpetuity?

2:00 p.m.: Leverage Your Social Clout

Social media provides brands and PR agencies a customer’s first impression. If your social media is highly engaged, brands will pay higher ad rates. This session will talk about how to grow your social media audience and engagement—and why it matters.

3:30 pm: Aligning for Action

The final plenary and small-group session will be organized around the suggestions and ideas generated during the small-group discussions. The Map of Action will literally guide the organization of participants during the final session. Small groups will organize around the most prominent ideas from the previous sub-theme discussion. This final session is a chance for participants to get specific and identify which actions discussed during the Summit should be replicated for greater impact.

4:30 pm: Announcement of all SHIFT Award Winners
