SHIFT Drinks Happy Hour: Viral or Vital?

SHIFT Drinks Happy Hour | Viral or Vital? Conservation, Outdoor Rec and the Media

Presented by The Jackson Hole News&Guide and High Country News

Viral sells, but at what cost? With the gap between traditional and digital journalism widening, and with the publishing business model in flux, publishers, journalists and editors are caught between the desire to report the compelling issues of the day with accuracy and substance and the need to generate impressions that in turn drive revenue. How do they balance the desire to provide journalistic substance with the need to drive sales? What does the reader want? From the reader’s perspective, as well as that of the content generators, how is the media navigating this balance, and how would they adjust it if they could?

Moderated by Paul Larmer, executive director and publisher of High Country News, this session is designed to capture real-time feedback for media representatives from readers and content generators in a fun, fast-paced, dynamic happy hour session.

SHIFT Drinks Happy Hours are non ticketed SHIFT events and are open to the public. Happy hour specials will be made available for purchase at The Rose.
