Tania Lown-Hecht

Tania grew up in California and spent her summers teaching backpacking and outdoors skills at a YMCA camp in the Sierras. Tania has her PhD in English from the University of Illinois, where she studied geography, space, and place in contemporary literature. During graduate school, she also created, maintained, and monetized a blog that garnered over quarter million hits a month. She moved to DC with her husband in 2011, where she took her knack for storytelling to nonprofit communications. Working with Outdoor Alliance lets her combine her love for the outdoors with her passion for mission-driven communications strategy.

Tania will participate in the Lunch Discourse on the Public Land Transfer Movement on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Wort.
