Taimur Ahmad

Taimur is the Recreation and Forest Policy Fellow at the Wilderness Society.

Taimur Ahmad grew up in New York City, where he learned to fish and climb in the lakes and on the boulders of Central Park.  In college he was active in outdoor education and recreation programs as a leader and leader-trainer, and also founded a campus outing group.  After graduating in 2016 he took a position as a Recreation and Forest Policy Fellow at the Wilderness Society in Washington, D.C, where he works on many issues related to outdoor access and recreation.  Taimur is an avid climber and spends most of his non-work time in the climbing gym or climbing outside.

Taimur was selected to participate in the 2016 SHIFT Emerging Leaders Program and will speak at the panel ‘Public Lands, Urban America‘ on Saturday, October 15 at 10:00 AM as part of the SHIFT Summit.
