Presented by The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, and conducted by Aparna Rajagopal-Durbin, the industry leader in diversity, equity and inclusion, the Cultural Relevancy Workshop will teach participants how to navigate the DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) landscape.

The workshop will help participants understand and confidently articulate what cultural relevancy work entails, explain why it’s critical to our collective future and build a plan for their organization to move forward with this work. Participants will leave with a map plotting their organization’s next steps and a compass to guide them there. They’ll also build relationships with peers who are engaged in the same work.

Objectives: At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • More confidently define and distinguish between diversity, inclusion, equity, and cultural competency, sometimes broadly referred to as cultural relevancy.
  • Clearly articulate why cultural relevancy is critical to the future of their respective organizations.
  • Share cultural relevancy successes and challenges with peers.
  • Plot a universe of cultural relevancy strategies (including their respective organizations’ current strategies) on a four-quadrant map.
  • Prioritize strategies in all four quadrants, and identify tactics and resources to support these strategies.
