John Wentworth

An Oregon native who grew up in Washington, D.C., Wentworth is a graduate of Brown University and a skilled project manager, much of it in the film industry, in which he worked with David Lynch as Co-Producer of “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” and “Mulholland Drive” before moving to Mammoth Lakes in 2000.

Over the last decade, he has worked with others in the public process on behalf of “a Mammoth Lakes that we believe is worthy of our inspiring natural environment.”

A terrific athlete and skier who can often be spotted in the backcountry on skis or afoot, Wentworth founded the Mammoth Lakes Trails and Public Access Foundation, whose initial goals were focused on resolving access issues to public lands in the Sherwins — a battle that pitted backcountry enthusiasts with residents of the exclusive neighborhoods that stood in the way – and which went on to give birth to the Mammoth Lakes Trail System

A strong proponent of using technology for the public good, John was elected to the Town Council in 2014 and currently serves as the Mayor of the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
