Ron Hunter started with Patagonia 30 years ago working as a part time sales associate in their San Francisco store. After working in retail for a number years, he moved over to his current job with Patagonia’s environmental team as their activism manager, where he is responsible for employee activism as well as the retail, wholesale, and World Trout grants programs. He also oversees Patagonia’s clothing donation program and helps develop and implement Patagonia’s environmental campaigns. Ron has a special affinity for river and wilderness issues, having worked on campaigns to protect the Tatshenshini River in Canada and the Clavey River outside of Yosemite as well as wilderness protection in both Nevada and California. Currently he is working on Patagonia’s public lands team defending hard fought gains won in the national monument arena. Ron has sat on the boards of the Bay Area Nuclear Waste Coalition, Truckee River Habitat Restoration Group, Friends of Nevada Wilderness and The Nevada Conservation League.
