Dr. Nooshin Razani

Dr. Nooshin Razani is a pediatrician, researcher, and advocate of access to nature as a human right. Dr. Razani is an attending physician at UCSF Benioff Oakland’s Primary Care Clinic refugee and foster care clinics, and Clinical Scientist at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI). 

Dr. Razani directs the groundbreaking park prescription program called Stay Healthy In Nature Everyday (SHINE) where she has taken families into nature for health every month for more than four years. She conducted the first randomized trial of park prescriptions, and is excited to continue advancing the science of nature and health through her role as director of the  Center for Nature and Health at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.

Dr. Razani attended medical school at University of California San Francisco, completed a pediatric residency at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, and has a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed an infectious diseases fellowship at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and NIH fellowship in HIV prevention research through the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies. In 2009 was a general academic fellow at UCSF with a focus on nature and health, and in 2012 was a key member of the Healthy Parks Healthy People initiative.
