Janette Heung is the principal of JWG Global, a management consulting and research think tank based in Colorado with local and international project expertise. JWG provides management strategy and interdisciplinary insights to the society’s most pressing conservation and healthcare challenges and opportunities.
Throughout her career, Janette has consulted for public, private, and non-profit sector clients, including Fortune 50 companies, The Nature Conservancy Asia Pacific, City and County of Denver, and State of Colorado. Previously, she was a Senior Management Consultant at Deloitte Consulting in the Washington DC area and Deputy Director for the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (OREC).
While at OREC, Heung supported economic development within the industry, worked to build a dynamic workforce, advances conservation and stewardship, and encouraged the intersection with public health and wellness in the sector. She founded the Colorado Outdoor and Health Collaborative, which over the course of a year, incubated a number of outdoor and health initiatives with participating partners. The initiatives were featured in OREC’s recently released Colorado OutdoorRx Report. The Colorado Collaborative is now convened by LiveWell Colorado and Heung continues to contribute as a steering committee member.
Heung is the co-founder of Unleashed, a winter climbing community event that features storytelling by community champions with the proceeds supporting outdoor education non-profits. Heung holds bachelor degrees in physics and biomedical engineering from Tufts University and a master’s degree from Harvard School of Public Health.
