Birds are the sentries – and our key – to understanding the world beyond our front door. The calls, postures, and other behaviors of birds convey much information to those who understand their patterns. The attentive, trained observer can deduce through bird language the location of predators and other forces on the landscape—and in so doing discover a way to connect more deeply to natural world around them.
At last year’s SHIFT, bird language master Dan Gardoqui led participants in an introduction to some of the fundamental elements of the craft. Back by popular demand, this year’s Bird Language Workshop will again be taught by Mr. Gardoqui, and will bring participants on a journey toward a deeper connection to the birds and ultimately to a deeper connection to themselves.
The event will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, from 2-4 p.m. at a location TBD. It is free and open to the public.
