Network Leadership with Jane Wei-Skillern: Network Theory (by invitation only)

Despite huge differences in issue area, scale, resources and formal roles, successful network practitioners and their networks are remarkably similar. This special component of The 2018 SHIFT Festival, developed to help funders ensure their collaborations with non-profits are as effective and impactful as possible, will be led by New Network Leader founder Jane Wei-Skillern, whose eighteen years of research on a range of successful networks identified a common pattern of factors essential to effective collaboration.

Presented by The Outdoor Foundation, in cooperation with 1% for the Planet, the track will use detailed case studies to illustrate Wei-Skillern’s four counterintuitive principles critical to collaborative success:

  • Focus On Mission Before Organization
  • Manage Through Trust, Not Control
  • Promote Others, Not Yourself
  • Build Constellations, Not Stars

Over the course of two working lunches, participants will learn the principles’ practical applications vis-a-vis leadership and governance as well as how to build trust and relationships to achieve social impact.

The cost for the Funders Track is $100 per person and includes both lunches.

Participation is by invitation only. Those interested in participating may inquire here.

Lunch 1 will focus on Network Theory.
