Stephen Bannar, M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in general orthopedics, sports injuries and reconstruction, trauma, malunions, nonunions and arthroplasty. Dr. Bannar has a particular interest in sports orthopedics involving the shoulder, knee and hip.
Dr. Bannar earned his medical degree at from Pennsylvania State University, College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. After completion of medical school, he performed a general surgery internship and orthopedic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Bannar completed his fellowship in sports medicine with Tahoe Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinic in South Lake Tahoe, CA.
Dr. Bannar is a member of the American Medical Association, the Wilderness Medical Society, Orthopaedics Overseas and a team physician for the U.S. Snowboard Team.
Dr. Bannar enjoys sailing, scuba diving, down hill and cross country skiing and bicycling, and competes in competitions such as the Death Ride.
