Josh Gold is the ATA’s Senior Manager of R3 and State Regulations. His goal is to implement the ATA’s Explore Bowhunting and Explore Bowfishing programs nationwide, and to boost archery, bowhunting and bowfishing participation.
Gold previously worked for the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network, which is part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. He was the commission’s regional education coordinator, and worked with its partners to expand youth participation in fishing, boating, shooting sports and wildlife discovery.
He also coordinated archery efforts statewide, including USA Archery certification courses, Explore Bowhunting workshops, Explore Archery programs, and Archery Camps. During summer, he codirected youth camps that included hunting, archery, boating, and freshwater and saltwater fishing.
Besides Gold’s impressive list of qualifications, he has a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and geography, and a master’s of science degree in biogeography from Florida State University. He is also a USA Archery Level 3 NTS coach, NASP basic archery instructor trainer, Scholastic 3-D Archery coach, hunter education instructor, and National Bowhunter Education Foundation instructor.
Gold lives in Tallahassee, Florida, with his wife, Chelsea; daughter, Laurel; two dogs and cat. He enjoys kayaking, archery, bowhunting, fishing, paddle-boarding and other outdoor activities.
