Peter Fix earned his PhD in Natural Resources Recreation and Tourism from Colorado State University. Dr. Fix joined the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2002, where he teaches courses in outdoor recreation management and survey research methods. He has conducted recreation-related research for many state and federal agencies. His current research focus involves partnering with the Bureau of Land Management to advance Outcomes Focused Management. His goal is to incorporate consistent measures of health-related outcomes across BLM sites, to allow for a more comprehensive measure of benefits associated with recreation and a better understanding of the relationship between site management and outcomes. In his free time he enjoys bicycling and cross country skiing.
